i ripped one of these apart before and gave myself a nasty shock from the backlight contacts, arm ouchie
Based on the BIN dump, it definitely is some kind of file system. I remember trying to decompile a windows ce image binary and it's the same concept
Help i had one i thrifted mine as a 13yr old in 2019 and i used to have like a bunch of rhythm heaven edits on it. Chorus kid related stuff. I have videos of it from when i still had it… good times. 😭
Good good, another photo acking
Useless AF video. Just as "processor", this is mips32 with 4megabyte chip. Throw it from the window, don't spend our time AGAIN please
Its just 50 pin rgb ttl, if you want to just use the screen, you can just search for a generic chinese 50 pin fpc (display resolution) display driver, and you will find something. I have done it before. I get its to just hack it for fun, but, if you want? Also why not use a chip clip to dump the rom? Seems way easier than soldering them every time
Can it run Loom?
Remember when these were everywhere, then they just disappeared into drawers forever 😂
I'm slightly intrigued that there's an uncut camera hole in 4:01. Is it like a variant of the photo frame that has a camera?
hi! could u please help me? i've been trying to hack very interesting piece of tech called Archos 605, it is a linux based media player with ARM cpu, HDD, 64 mb of DDR2, 2mb nor flash intel. I tried all methods, but unfortunately the nor flash is write protected in boot0 zone. I can give to u some info about my researches if u interested in! I've been doing this for 3 years, but have no results, please help me!
Can I help you with the project? I love inspecting these ROMs, and I want to help a little bit in this challenge
God I love this series
are you using ai to generate random images in the video such as the one of you hugging the giant usb stick
This feels like interdimentional cable LGR.
is there any way I could contribute someday, I wanna learn to exploit hardware cuz I have Linux knowledge, just wondering 😛
Yo!! Dude , don't stop make things make U happy , u r great technician and i love all u make !
ur vids suck!!
Hey try to hack an pax d190 with pad tampered
1:43 Having NO idea what I'm doing is no excuse for doing it anyway! 😲😂
run doom
This does look a lot more promising! Good luck!
Welcome back. I was hoping to not get disappointed after the first time, which I followed very closely.
It's not Spanish, it's Portuguese.
Its indeed a mips32 and it seems the R1 variant runs an RTOS, while the R2 variant supports Linux. Also seems possible due to only having 32megabit flash (4 megabytes), while most tiny embedded linux systems need at minimum 64 megabit (8 megabytes). So it probably runs a small rtos but idk which one
Could use wsl and pull the fwdump through binwalk to detect common headers/patterns. Could alao pop in a 8 megabyte or even 16 megabyte soic flash as the 25xx series are quite popular
github link?
Im gonna comment on every episode
Very Bringus
Sick vid bro, keep it up!
Do you have a clip? Seems alot easier than desolidering
Grab one that says FRAMEO on it. So you can hack and mod it with software (adb) next.
run the rom through binwalk
i got dizzy, wtf!
The chip reader mod drops the voltage to 3.3v right? I think I got the same chinese dongle, any tips?

The legend is back!
I remember the ATJ MCU/SoC on the MP4s from way back. they had a Z80 core on them. I managed to custom-skin my own one. And two years ago, I was able to track down the authors of the s1mp3 site and acquired some additional tools. Wasn't able to fully mod mine, but I ran my own code on it 🙂 This one you have is indeed MIPS, and doesn't seem to be that cryptic. To begin with, the main flash is soic, so that's an easy way to test hacks!
If you can not find uart on the board you can try Finding schematic for The SOC and soldering directly to uart pins ,love your videos
