The Polaroid Flip is awesome. Polaroid’s film formulation is still pretty inconsistent and annoying sometimes. The desert is really hot. National Parks aren’t my vibe. Fun episode!

Going to say one thing. Ben Horne
lol, I live in Palm Springs and shoot Polaroid all the time! And the sepia is a Polaroid issue they say they have corrected, but they have not. I personally choose to use the "issues" with the film as part of my creative process. I also shoot a camera so many have hated on but I love, the Now Gen 2… That's what I love about Polaroid, we all have our reasons of why we love to shoot it!
i like your brain
You said in video from South Carolina. Me too.. Where South Carolina..?
So you can’t travel with your Polaroid and or film. Well that sucks.
I went to a national park in England, and there were too many people there. You can’t take photos when there are constantly strangers who might walk in front.
🧡
Nice work on the video! I hear ya about the national parks…. especially those most visited ones. The least visited ones can be great though. Loving my Flip, too. Looking forward to seeing more of it on your channel.
The Polaroids look beautiful!! I kinda really like that purple !! Dreamy!!
I hate to see anyone in a public role dissing the National Parks at a time when funding is being cut, lifelong employees are being fired, threats are being made to sell off protected lands as well as ending or diminishing the Endangered Species Act and thereby taking protections away from the animals it protects, many of which wander in and out of the parks. As photographers, I think we have an obligation to help create a story with our images, not tear things down. These parks, even if you don't enjoy them, play a vital role in the protection of fragile lands, threatened species, plants and trees and in educating children and adults alike about the importance of the natural world around us. In addition, no matter where one lives, it is amazing to have access to the overwhelming beauty of these special spaces. Living in the West, we are very aware of these issues and I do hope that you and your Polaroid and your great photography have a chance to revisit a National Park soon with a new outlook.
Notice you are using the black version of the flip. Do you think a better choice to keep camera more inconspicuous on the road and outdoors? Also I would imagine it would stay cleaner too with less scuffs than the white? Have you regretted not getting the white?
I discovered with Instax wide that the monochrome ones produce way more consistent results. In my experiences Instax is a lot more consistent but even their color does odd things.
What do you think of Mint's SLR670 series? 🙂
Love the Joshua tree photos and I got myself a flip love it
Amazing Polaroid pix….i like the back of the billboard very mach, it is transporting a special loneliness or abandonment vibe to me. Superb
You are an interesting and entertaining travel companion Mr Malone. Another excellent video and I think you are persuading me to buy a Flip. I love my I-2, but as you said, it requires thought for every shot – and then can STILL disappoint!
We are A LOT alike
I was thinking some of the color looked overexposed maybe (rather than a heat issue)? Love the b&w shots!
I like taking pictures of rocks
An insulated lunch bag with the inside kept at room temp will help those polaroids develop properly on a hot day, the polaroid all weather bag is insulated like a lunch bag, works perfectly.
Similar for cold weather, protects from the extreme cold too.
As far as I know the temp only really matters in the 10-15 minutes while developing.
This is a little known fact, but you are not allowed to film anything other than documentaries in national parks. Which is why they've never been able to shoot in death valley again. Star Wars episode 4 is shot almost exclusively in death valley for all the tatooine scenes, but it was a state park at the time so that was allowed. Once it was upgraded to a national park, No more movies. The jaw was in Star. Wars are actually the state park rangers children that were out there with them!
It's a dry heat, though 😂
I really want the flip! But idk if I can justify buying another Polaroid camera… but you keep convincing me!
the only reason I go to national parks is to buy national park stickers
Dude, those shots are all super rad, even with the heat and inconsistent chemistry…I’m headed out this week cross country in the opposite direction, and I’m only shooting on the Flip…appreciate the heads up on B&W in the heat…🤙🏻🏴☠️
The b&w polaroid film looks really really nice…
I’m in LA right now on vacation. We’re driving to Vegas tomorrow. It’s been great in LA since it’s been on the cool side. Probably just use my flip at night when in Vegas.
You’re going to polacon? I love these videos and actually just went to New Mexico this weekend and brought my flip. I love it more than my I-2 too haha
i wanna go on a photography road trip so bad but I don't have anyone who has the mindset to stop and explore with the intent of a photowalk.
Lol Just drove from Virginia to Santa Monica and then back again! The wind is nuts out West!
15 minutes ago? i just came from your nikon fe vid
Pole position!
