  1. Help i had one i thrifted mine as a 13yr old in 2019 and i used to have like a bunch of rhythm heaven edits on it. Chorus kid related stuff. I have videos of it from when i still had it… good times. 😭

  2. Its just 50 pin rgb ttl, if you want to just use the screen, you can just search for a generic chinese 50 pin fpc (display resolution) display driver, and you will find something. I have done it before. I get its to just hack it for fun, but, if you want? Also why not use a chip clip to dump the rom? Seems way easier than soldering them every time

  3. hi! could u please help me? i've been trying to hack very interesting piece of tech called Archos 605, it is a linux based media player with ARM cpu, HDD, 64 mb of DDR2, 2mb nor flash intel. I tried all methods, but unfortunately the nor flash is write protected in boot0 zone. I can give to u some info about my researches if u interested in! I've been doing this for 3 years, but have no results, please help me!

  4. Its indeed a mips32 and it seems the R1 variant runs an RTOS, while the R2 variant supports Linux. Also seems possible due to only having 32megabit flash (4 megabytes), while most tiny embedded linux systems need at minimum 64 megabit (8 megabytes). So it probably runs a small rtos but idk which one

Could use wsl and pull the fwdump through binwalk to detect common headers/patterns. Could alao pop in a 8 megabyte or even 16 megabyte soic flash as the 25xx series are quite popular

  5. I remember the ATJ MCU/SoC on the MP4s from way back. they had a Z80 core on them. I managed to custom-skin my own one. And two years ago, I was able to track down the authors of the s1mp3 site and acquired some additional tools. Wasn't able to fully mod mine, but I ran my own code on it 🙂 This one you have is indeed MIPS, and doesn't seem to be that cryptic. To begin with, the main flash is soic, so that's an easy way to test hacks!
