Quick step by step polaroid emulsion lift – St Pauls Cathedral, London

Polaroid

The only Polaroid lift I ended up doing in the few hours I spent in London. Absolutely loved this pocket of light on St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Polaroid camera played ball and got a great exposure with deep tones, making it the perfect image for a transfer.

Captured using my Polaroid Sun 660, the polaroid transfer, or emulsion lift, is a technique unique to polaroid film where you separate the photo from its original substrate and move it to another bit of paper. The image becomes malleable when doing this, allowing you to shift and fold it into unique and interesting arrangements. Such a cool and alternative way to use an instant camera, and easy to do at home!
