Polaroid Go Generation 2 Instant Camera Kit Review

Polaroid

I saw this instant camera kit discounted at a local store and thought it would be fun to try out. Keep in mind that this specific kit appears to be unavailable online, but many of the components are available.

In this video I review the Polaroid Go Generation 2 Instant Camera. It includes the camera, wrist straps, a photo case, USB-C cable, and a 16 photo print pack. I discuss the camera’s features. Such as its small size and decent build quality. Along with functional elements like the flash, selfie mirror, and viewfinder.

I talk about my experience using the camera, including how to activate various modes. Like the double exposure and self-timer. I also share results from a photo walk using all of the included film prints. I hope you enjoyed the review!

While the image quality isn’t amazing, the camera offers a fun and portable option for instant photography. It’s a great device for those who enjoy instant prints and don’t mind, or actually want, the stylized lower image quality.

Update: A few viewers brought up that the look of the outdoor photos could be due to the cold temperature and suggested stowing it in a place close to you in those situations so body heat can help with the development process. It sounds legit.

  2. FYI you got a bad pack of film/you stored it improperly, these blueish/greenish colours mean that it was frozen at a certain point of time

  3. Hey it’s a fun little camera and I enjoy mine keep the film in the fridge whilst storing then let it warm up to room temperature before use. The blue green is probably from it being cold and you need to hide the photos in the dark for 15 minutes to fully develop. But it is good fun to play with

  4. You’re doing lot of things wrong in terms of exposing to light (you need to keep them dark automatically), exposing to cold temperatures ( that’s why the blue color cast) and how not to keep them (Polaroid does not recommend to keep in plastic albums during the first month). The only missing wrong thing you didn’t do was to shake them. Is all chemistry.

  5. This might be a fair intro cam for kids, before moving up to a conventional cam or smartphone. Something amiss with all that green, considering a few indoor pics were OK. Pilot error? Any coating step needed, like the old polaroids? Ever have a go with one of those small, portable instant printers?
