  1. this was a super fun and informational watch!
I acquired some of this stuff alongside the 665 version today. I've been longing for this weird pola "frame" that those negatives have, I want to make some still lifes and portraits with that material and then produce darkroom lith prints from the negatives.
you have a very fun way, it was highly enjoyable watching the video and I learned quite a bit, hoping that I'll waste less sheets.
oh and btw I love both of your photos of the sign especially! great work

  2. Can’t say I have a specific interest in Polaroid photography even broadly speaking. And yet, the journey, exploration and foibles along the way are ultra compelling. Bravo my friend, the whole thing is super well done, interesting and funny.

  3. Dude! I needed this. I feel you @ 12:39, "pull it to P, I literally have to say this every time…" and the ensuing "it's on P" meltdown. I do wet plate and all the ins and outs of the details…. Enough to drive you crazy. I am very interested in the Type 55. Both a positive and a Negative is genius. Why, Why, Why, it is not in production can only be a money thing. As the demand is so high. Cheers and thanks for the post and laughs.

  4. Cool stuff, Nick. I love stopping by Helper whenever we’re down there, and if there’s enough light I usually try to walk around the town for a bit to soak it all in… there’s just something about it!

  5. the negative has super tight grain and amazing tonality. I used it when you could actually buy it new. I dont understand how yours could be so old and still work so well?

  6. I have had similar issues at the edges of Polaroids, so to conserve media I would compose for the centre. I'm terribly busy right now, I think I'm going thru an extinction event or worse, but I'll dig that gear out and see if there's anything I can add.
