3D Printed Polaroid / Instax Camera –

I made a fully 3D Printable Polaroid / Instax camera that anyone with a 3D printer can just build in a few hours. It doesn’t require any lenses, electronics, or special tools, all you need is a 3D printer, some Instax Mini film and a couple of household items.

  1. For the people saying "It's an Instax camera, not a Polaroid" – So, some of my younger viewers might not know this, but back in the olden days the term "Polaroid" was used as a generic term for instant film shots. You would say "I clicked a polaroid" and stuff like that.

    Instax and other smaller (at the time) brands did exist but Polaroid was the most commonly available brand in the market. So a lot of people my age still refer to these types of cameras as "polaroid cameras" and that was my rationale behind the title (and script), but I've learned through the comments that younger people don't use the same terminology anymore, which is also fine.

  3. yk instead of taking a photo by taking the cap off and putting it back on why not make just have a thing that rotates off the lens with a simple lever that has a spring mechanism so when you push up the light hits the film and when you let go the spring puts the lever back in its original spot covering the lens basically a simplified shutter

  6. Nice invention. Maybe look at an instax camera and see how that pushes the film out and print it up. Or Use a hand roller on the prints to disperse the chemicals.

  26. hey i bought your camera kit on gumroad, but it doesnt come with slicer files, ive been trying to print it with my bambulab printer x1c but getting lot of failed prints, can you make this files acceesible for the people that purchased your kit?

  33. Yeah I think the issue with the rollers was less because of the quality of the prints and more because of the gear system you were using on the ends. If the pits of each tooth aren’t deep enough, then the rollers aren’t making consistent contact.

  44. Thank u soo much, you have mostly taken care of one of the hardest parts to replacate in these projects. That stupid winder has lead to $200 plastic attachments. See if there's anyway to mech any smaller, maybe use real springs?

  46. If you stiffened up a piece of human hair with some hairspray or something you could get your pinhole even smaller if that would improve the quality of the picture in any way?
