This Polaroid “spider web” display holds Polaroids with nothing but string tension.
Built with simply string and nails, this is a great way to display your Polaroids without adhesives.
Looking for a creative way to display your Polaroids? Start with a perimeter of nails, and create a criss-cross pattern with string. The gigantic spider web shown at the end of this video holds 189 Polaroids. If you had a big enough wall and enough images, it would be possible to create a display that holds hundreds of photographs.
The interactive and adaptive nature of this display could be used to showcase more than just Polaroids. It could hold other photos, papers, even posters. It’s kind of like a giant bulletin board that holds items without tacks or sticky adhesives.
This tutorial is part of the “Electric Polaroid” project by Kyle Maier Maybe of Kamio Media. This is a collection of long exposure Polaroids, shot on 600 film using an SX-70 Sonar. Look out for the accompanying tutorial: “how to shoot long exposure Polaroids with a vintage SX-70 Sonar Camera”

This is so amazing, thank you for sharing. I am a renter…trying to figure out how to duplicate this but on a board of some sort and adhere this to a wall instead, so I am not damaging the wall….hmmm
Cool wall display!
