We Tested 4 Popular 4×6 Photo Printers – Here’s What Won: Canon vs Kodak vs Polaroid vs Liene

Polaroid

Here we test four of the best 4×6 home photo printers on the market for print quality, color accuracy, ease of use, and aesthetics. We also used the Android app, iPhone app, and any additional options the printer offers for printing (SD card, direct print, computer print, etc.) to see if there was any drop-off in quality. See the surprising results with these printers here!

  1. Hi! I can’t thank you enough for this review! I also watched your videos on YouTube. I have been agonizing about which color printer to buy and this gave me all the answers I needed. I did purchase through your link 🙂

  2. Great video Alison, i would like to know if the Pick you choose as top, does it have the capabilities to print smaller sizes other than 4×6? can it print collages? i have a 14 year granddaughter that i want to get one for. Please reply as soon as able so i can order her one. ty in advance!

  3. Thank you for a great review. I've gone with the Canon CP-1500, it meets all my requirements. Show stopper for me: Canon has been around for a long time, and odds are greater of them being around in 2 years….. I have many great products in my tech museum closet that are orphans today…

  4. 7:02 looking at the photos.. yeah polaroid is out lol, Liene is more neutral/natural, Kodak adds more contrast which isn't bad but can over compensate on certain scenes, and the Canon is close to the Liene but Canon keeps adding more tint which I might not be a fan of for every photo

  5. Great review – I’d consider the Liene, but it would help to get per-print price comparison including cost (and availability) of the replacement ink… eg. Canon is a well established brand with ink sold everywhere .

  6. Thank you Alison for this nice review. I just got back into my photography, and having fun with my Canon R6. I was leaning towards the Canon, but have heard many great reviews for the Liene too. I think I will go with the Liene!

  7. The Selphy paper isn't a true 6×4 dimension. It's called Japanese postcard size or Hagaki and is slightly smaller in width and length to what we know as 4R. It won't fit snugly in a 4R photo album or frame.

  8. Once the tear tabs are removed are any of them exactly 6 inches? I have a canon selphy and they are not quite 6 inches so when I put 2 pictures side by side it doesn't go across my 12 inch scrapbook page, I'm always a little short. 🙁 If I could find one that was exactly 6 inches once tabs removed I would definitely buy something different.

  9. Didn’t even know the brand Liene, never heard of it, was just looking for a photo printer and your review is absolutely perfect! On top of that you’re a photographer so I’m taking your recommendation and buying it right now! Great Xmas present for my girls! Thank you so much!
