So glad you made this! I just dug out my camera box (!!!) and the spectra with the close up box/stand (like the one Caleb has, not your former CHUNGUS) has always been my favorite (out of the Polaroid family that I personally own. Found a few boxes of unopened I-type film so looks like I’m in business!! (Or maybe not since I don’t have a spectra spent film case…yet) Either way, thanks!
Puisqu'il fonctionne avec des piles, est-il nécessaire de changer la batterie de la cartouche ?
I'm very surprised that you got some really good developer spread! I wonder if its because its in a Spectra cartridge, or the rollers of the dental cameras are different (which should've been the same as any other Spectra?), or you have a golden Spectra camera?
Anyways I would like to tell you that long ago I found a simple method of shooting 600 cartridges inside Spectra cameras that doesn't need the dark bag, but every time I mention that I feel like I'm getting caught by YT's stupid spam filter. Hope you could try that method out since I see a lot of people trying to 3D print adapters or use the god awfully expensive polastudio converter. Those adapters would only be useful for I-type but even then, I have another simple method to use I-type if you have some empty 600 cartridge laying around (does not need reloading in the dark!).
Hi Chris, a great video and a wonderful camera. You seem to have your work cut out loading the camera. I have had a lot of success with the Pola Studio film converter. You might like to look into that.
Another thing you can do is use an adapter. I think someone made an adapter to use I-Type/600 film in a Spectra camera. I have not tried it so I am not sure how well it works. There are youtube videos on it or google it.
Woohoo
Alas, I have a bunch of the same Spectra cameras Caleb has. The Spectra line was where Polaroid had all the weird cool cameras! I wish Impossible/Polaroid Originals/polaroid could figure out a way to get their film thinner again, so they could re-attempt the Spectra frame size.
As an aside for possibly loading more than one 600 frame at a time, could you trim the top end (opposite the chemical pack) down to the original Spectra height so that it doesn’t hang out the bottom of the original Spectra cartridge?
Would the chemicals just all ooze out the top, or is there just enough chemical in there to perfectly spread without overflowing? And if so, maybe seal it back up with a thin tape?
Nothing like a just another chris vid to start the day
