I’ve been testing out a $27 instant print digital camera that uses thermal paper instead of ink — and it turned out to be one of the most fun little gadgets I’ve used in a long time. https://amzn.to/46ams1h
In this video, I go over:
📸 10 reasons I like this camera
❌ 10 reasons you might not like it
🖨️ Real examples of photos taken over several days
🌞 Tips for getting better pictures indoors and outdoors
⚫ Dot matrix vs grayscale print modes
💡 How lighting and exposure settings affect your prints
This is not a high-quality camera — and it doesn’t pretend to be. But if you think of it as a small black-and-white art machine, it becomes a whole lot of fun. You can experiment freely, print photos for pennies, and even hand someone a picture of themselves just seconds after taking it.
If you enjoy this review, I may make a more in-depth video covering more of the features and creative ways to use this little camera.

Not many people know this, but YouTube now allows viewers to leave a tip by using the thanks button below the videos on YouTube, at least on some channels.
In addition, I have an Amazon affiliate link, and anything that people buy anywhere on Amazon after they enter Amazon via my link Jeff Bezos throws me a few pennies.
At least until he can get robots to start making YouTube videos and posting links for him. Don’t laugh. The robot YouTube video content creators are just around the corner.
You’d better appreciate Robb’s homemade life while you can.
Some viewers like to see the stuff I have bought and liked on Amazon in my Amazon store.

Actually this a great idea as a cheap little backup. Another idea I can use.
Thanks for sharing!
I made a video a while ago with an old thermal cash register printer (as usual, nobody watched it) LOL, but the technology is interesting, and far cheaper than Polaroid.
In my experience, adhesive tape dissolves the images.
I think that is awesome.
It made me remember when my dad bought the Polaroid Highlander Land Camera in the late 50’s.
It was a big deal. I remember my mother giving him the “third degree” over the cost.
We were most definitely not rich. My father was a meat cutter with three boys that wore out a lot of shoes
We must have eaten a months worth of potatoes and “weenies” in thin tomato sauce to get it.
I remember one supper when my mother was a bit disgruntled over it. We were at the table and took a vote. I can still see the impish grin on my Dad’s face. We loved it and it was sitting there ,steaming, under our noses. We asserted our hearty approval and dug in. Mom felt better. It was darn good!
Two cans of crushed tomatoes, two cans of water a ton of potatoes and a pack of hotdogs sliced as thin as potato chips.
Italian seasoning. It was pretty spartan but Mom made the best of it. We continued to make it throughout our lives, but the weenies got bigger and onions and celery went in to the mix. Kielbasa too.
Still have the camera.
Money went a lot further then.
I’m going to have to get one of those little things. I like the sketch feature.
You could use it to make a comic strip.
I remember there was that kind f camera output when I took my son to a Chucky Cheese restaurant. They had a camera on a kid ride to take a picture of the kids and print out the picture if you put some tokens into the ride😅
I think the tape might make the picture disappear. I had a prepaid bar code for a return package and I put clear shipping tape over the bar code to prevent it from getting wet, but it caused the bar code to completely fade. Later, I saw a message on the wax backing of the bar code sticker that said to not put tape over the sticker 😄
Thanks Glenn that is a wonderful use of the camera. I bet the kids never forgot the time they had.
Good morning Robb! I really like this camera and it takes decent pictures. I still have my Polaroid Instant Camera from ack in the day, film has just gotten so expensive.
Have a blessed day!
Went to a wedding a number of years ago that they had a version of these on every table. Asked people to use them throughout the night and give pictures to the newlyweds. Pretty cool idea, and they worked fine. I'm sure they got some great pictures that probably never would have been captured. And whoever wanted one of the cameras was welcome to take them home. My kids used that camera for years. I think they even used it for fun in college. Have great day Robb🍀🍀
